This Rare coral orginates from the Pacific Ocean. It is very hard to come by as production for this material had ceased as there is a ban on harvesting this material today. Do not mistake this coral with those cheap "golden coral" that are sold often for a small price. Those cheap "golden coral" are very porous in nature and will not produce a shine when polished. The shine from those corals come from a layer of lacquer that had been applied on the surface. You remove the lacquer, the shine will be gone. The coral that is on auction has NO lacquer applied to it. The shine comes from the coral surface. You can literally grind the surface till it is rough and polish it up again and the shine will come back. This is expensive material which will cost you a small fortune for a decent size piece as listed here. This will make a 1-of-a-kind piece of jewelry!
