The key code you choose from the key code list must be an exact match to the key code your ignition or lock uses or it will not work.

Places to look for your key code:

On your original key

Stamped on the gas cap stem. You'll find a 6 digit number, the last 3 digits of that number is the key code. You must have the gas cap removed to see the code.
3. Stamped on the back of the helmet lock,
not the frame mounting tab
for the helmet lock (which has a number stamped on it also) but the helmet lock itself. You'll have to remove the tamper proof screw and remove the helmet lock to find the 6 digit code.

Hand written in your original owners manual (dealer usually did this) or on paper work that came with your model when purchased new.
