Rolls-Royce Phantom II huge prestige catalog, printed in September 1934.
Size: 12.5” x 10” (approx 32cm x 25.5cm), with original R-R mailing envelope, sent to a prospective buyer in Rhode Island USA.
38 pages plus covers and end pages printed on heavy stock.
This is the fourth and last of four prestige Phantom II catalogs, the others printed in 1929, 1931, and 1933.
Thus this catalog illustrates examples of the especially attractive mid-1930s coachwork designed by independent outside coachbuilders and placed on this chassis.
Rolls-Royce did not make any coachwork in England prior to World War II.
Six tipped-in full-page color illustrations of various body types, plus fold-out chassis illustration, four pages of sepia illustrations of “Rolls-Royce Depots” and much much more.
This is a famous catalog within the R-R sales literature hobby, as all copies known of this catalog are missing page 19 – because of a text error, page 19 was deleted from the final production run.
Two known un-distributed “printer’s proof” copies include this page, and I will include a full-size color copy of the missing page obtained from the owner of one of the two proofs.
Excellent condition – all pages clean and without tears etc.
Three pages have very small stamped “1935”.
Because this catalog is far too large for my scanner, and because I was unwilling to press the catalog flat on the scanner, the photos in this listing have dark shading and fuzziness which are not on the actual item, and I only scanned one illustration (plus the copy of the missing page - compare the two!).
I am not a dealer – I am a collector and have been collecting high-end CCCA “Full Classic” sales catalogs for forty years and have decided to sell off some of my duplicates.
